In Vinnytsia, law enforcement officers have arrested a 32-year-old local man suspected of growing cannabis and preparing it for sale. During a search, the police seized over two kilograms of the drug

This was reported by the Vinnytsia Regional Police.

How the illegal drug laboratory operated

According to the investigation, the man had set up a special area for growing cannabis in a utility room in his house. To this end, he installed lighting, ventilation and an irrigation system, and provided the plants with the necessary fertilisers.

The operation to apprehend the suspect was carried out by detectives and operatives from the Vinnytsia District Police Department, in conjunction with officers from the Anti-Drug Crime Directorate.

What was seized during the search

During the authorised search, law enforcement officers found over two kilograms of cannabis. Some of the drug had already been divided into individual packets and, according to the investigation, was ready for sale.

In addition, the police seized electronic scales, packaging materials and other physical evidence that may indicate illegal activity.

The man has been charged under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the unlawful production, manufacture, storage and sale of narcotic drugs. The court has ordered him to be remanded in custody, subject to bail.
