Over a thousand buildings in Kyiv remain without heating, energy system operating at full capacity
More than a thousand buildings in Kyiv remain without heating, and in some of them, it was technically necessary to merge the systems due to the cold weather. This was reported on air by Kateryna Pop, spokesperson for the Kyiv City Military Administration.
According to her, the situation in the city remains difficult. In cases where it is impossible to quickly restore the heat supply, specialists are looking for technological solutions, in particular, to increase the volume of electricity supply to such buildings.
More than 230 emergency crews, including those brought in from other regions of Ukraine, are working to eliminate the consequences of Russian attacks and restore heat supply in the capital.
As for the electricity supply, the KMVA representative noted that the power system is functioning under conditions of constant damage. There is currently no risk of prolonged outages, but this depends on the scale of possible new strikes. Hourly electricity supply schedules continue to operate in Kyiv.
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the time of electricity supply may be temporarily reduced, but the availability of schedules allows residents to plan their day. The KMVA emphasises that the power system was not designed to operate under conditions of constant damage and frequent shutdowns and startups, and repair work is complicated by frost. Therefore, if necessary, the schedules may become more stringent.
