The Rada has registered draft law No. 14110-d on restrictions on nicotine pouches.
This was reported by The Public with reference to the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Draft law No. 14110-d proposes to establish new requirements for the circulation of nicotine-containing products, in particular restrictions on their sale and use. The document has been registered with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and is currently under consideration by parliament.
According to Ukrmedia News, some military personnel have expressed concern about the possible consequences of such restrictions. They note that nicotine pouches do not produce smoke or glow, so they do not reveal positions during combat missions, unlike traditional cigarettes.
In their opinion, restrictions or bans on such products could create additional difficulties for military personnel in the field.
At the same time, it is estimated that if the relevant restrictions are introduced, the state budget could lose more than UAH 1 billion in tax revenues.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has not yet made a final decision on draft law No. 14110-d.
