The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading and as a whole draft law No. 14303, which improves the procedure for paying one-time financial assistance to critical infrastructure workers who have suffered or died as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine.

This was reported by The Public with reference to a parliamentary session.

The bill amends the legislation on one-time financial assistance to civilians affected by Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, in particular to critical infrastructure workers.

The document stipulates that in the event of injury or death of an employee while performing official or work duties due to military action, he or she or his or her family shall be entitled to financial assistance.

It also specifies the list of relatives who are eligible for payments. This includes the husband or wife, children (if they are studying, up to the age of 23), parents and dependents.

The draft law itself does not specify the amounts of assistance, but according to the law being amended, the following payment amounts are provided for:

  • 800,000 UAH — in the case of Group I disability;

  • 500,000 UAH — in the case of Group II disability;

  • UAH 200,000 — in the case of Group III disability;

  • UAH 1 million — in the event of death.

Bill No. 14303 aims to improve the mechanism for paying assistance to civilian workers who have suffered while performing work at critical infrastructure facilities.
