Russia has carried out its fifth massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector since the beginning of the year, according to the Ministry of Energy.
On the night of 7 March, Russian troops carried out their fifth massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure since the beginning of 2026.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine (Ministry of Energy) in an operational report on the situation in the energy system as of the morning.
As a result of the shelling, some consumers were left without electricity in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions. The enemy attack also disrupted heat supply in Kyiv.
According to the ministry, energy and heating utility workers are working around the clock to restore electricity and heat supply to consumers as soon as possible.
Due to damage to the energy infrastructure in several regions of the country, restrictive measures are temporarily being applied to the energy system. These include power restriction schedules for industry, as well as hourly power cuts for consumers.
Citizens are advised to check the official websites of distribution system operators (oblenergo) in their regions for up-to-date information on changes in electricity supply.
The Ministry of Energy has also called on consumers in regions where restrictions are in place to use electricity rationally throughout the day, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, in order to reduce the load on the power system.
