Russian troops have been carrying out sustained attacks on Naftogaz Group gas production infrastructure in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions for over a day

The strikes damaged equipment and caused fires

According to Naftogaz, the attacks caused serious damage to production equipment. Large-scale fires broke out at some facilities. The company stated that the most important thing was that all staff were evacuated before the most dangerous phase of the shelling began. There is currently no information on casualties. Rescue workers and specialist services are on the ground, working to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and ensure safety.

It is not yet possible to assess the damage

Naftogaz notes that the situation remains difficult due to the threat of further attacks. This is why experts are currently unable to fully assess the extent of the damage and the scale of the losses incurred. A final assessment of the consequences will be possible once the security situation has stabilised and the emergency services have completed their work at the damaged sites.
