Stefanchuk signed the law on the state budget for 2026
The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed the law on Ukraine's state budget for 2026. This was reported by the parliamentary press center, emphasizing that the document defines the country's financial priorities in the context of war and an unstable global situation.
According to Stefanchuk, the budget was adopted “in a timely and responsible manner,” taking into account the needs of the defense sector, social protection, and economic recovery. After being signed by the head of parliament, the law will be sent to the President of Ukraine for signature.
The financial document maintains the priority of funding the Armed Forces and the security sector. It provides for expenditures on weapons, ammunition, and military training, as well as on the work of the defense forces in general. At the same time, a significant part of the budget is directed toward social programs—pensions, payments to veterans, support for families, education, and healthcare.
The government emphasizes that the 2026 budget takes into account the possibilities of international financing, in particular loans and grants from partners, in order to ensure protected expenditure items and minimize the deficit. The Cabinet of Ministers called for continued cooperation with international institutions and stressed that the adopted document will allow the state to fulfill its obligations in full.
According to the Verkhovna Rada, the main financial law for the next year makes it possible to plan expenditures systematically and sends a signal to businesses about the stability and predictability of state policy.
