Scholarships for students to double: how much will be paid from September
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
From 1 September 2026, the minimum scholarship for students of higher education institutions in Ukraine will increase to at least 4,000 hryvnia.
This is twice as much as in 2025.
The increase was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, scholarships will be received by students of higher education institutions regardless of their form of ownership.
This includes students at private universities who are studying at the expense of the state.
The Prime Minister noted that the government has already regulated the payment procedure for students of private higher education institutions who are also studying at the expense of the state.
Svyrydenko called this decision an example of cooperation, where young people's proposals influence state policy and translate into real government decisions.
She also stressed that it is important for the state that young people have opportunities and decent conditions for living and developing in Ukraine.
Thus, two key parameters of the scholarship system will change at once from the new academic year.
First, the minimum amount of payments will increase.
Second, the circle of students who will be able to receive scholarships under the state order will expand, regardless of the form of ownership of the educational institution.
