Sweden will provide Ukraine with $200 million in direct budget support in 2026
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga thanked Sweden for its decision to provide Ukraine with $200 million in direct budget support in 2026. He said this on the social network X.
According to the Foreign Minister, Sweden has been demonstrating leadership in financial assistance to Ukraine since the first months of the full-scale war. In August, the country was the first among its partners to provide $75 million in direct budget support, and the current decision actually triples this contribution.
Sybiga stressed that the new funding will be used to cover the daily needs of Ukrainians in wartime. This includes ensuring the operation of critical public services, the stability of energy supply, financing of the healthcare system, education, pensions and social assistance.
The Minister stressed that the total amount of direct budget support from Sweden in recent years has already reached hundreds of millions of dollars and remains an important element of Ukraine's financial stability.
In conclusion, Sibiga thanked the Swedish side for its consistency, determination and solidarity with the Ukrainian people in countering Russian aggression.
