The aftermath of the night-time attack on Kyiv: fires in three districts of the city
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko.
What were the consequences of the attack?
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris fell onto an 18-storey residential block. According to the mayor of the capital, a fire broke out on the seventh and eighth floors. Rescue workers also extinguished a fire in an evacuated four-storey building.
In the Solomyanskyi district, a fire broke out on the grounds of a non-residential development due to falling debris. According to the State Emergency Service, damage was also reported in a non-residential building there. In the Desnianskyi district, a warehouse caught fire, as did ten cars and a lorry parked in a car park. The State Emergency Service reported that all the fires caused by the night-time attack have now been brought under control.
