The Centre for Countering Disinformation stated that reports of the US Embassy allegedly leaving Kyiv are false.

Information began to circulate online and in some media outlets that the US diplomatic mission had allegedly left the Ukrainian capital in a hurry due to threats from Russia to strike Kyiv.

The Centre emphasised that this information is untrue.

What the Foreign Ministry said

Georgiy Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, officially refuted reports of the US Embassy’s alleged departure from Kyiv.

The Centre for Countering Disinformation urged citizens to trust official sources of information and not to spread unverified reports.

Earlier, Russia had threatened new strikes on Kyiv and urged foreigners, particularly diplomats, to leave the city.

Against this backdrop, reports began to appear in the media about the alleged evacuation of foreign diplomatic missions. The Ukrainian side denies reports of the US Embassy leaving Kyiv.
