The first quarter-finalists for the 2026 World Cup have been decided
Following the first matches of the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, six teams have already secured their places in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Morocco, France, Norway, England, Spain and Belgium have all progressed to the next stage of the World Cup.
The remaining quarter-finalists will be decided following the outcome of the remaining Round of 16 matches.

The 2026 World Cup is taking place from 11 June to 19 July in the USA, Mexico and Canada. This is the first World Cup to feature 48 national teams, the largest number in the tournament’s history. From 1998 to 2022, the World Cups were contested by 32 national teams.
Argentina remain the reigning world champions, having defeated France on penalties in the final of the 2022 World Cup.
