Bulgaria won the contest following the vote
Following the announcement of the results of the jury and public vote, Bulgaria took first place in the contest. DARA, whose real name is Dara Ekimova, is one of Bulgaria’s best-known young pop singers. The singer gained popularity through her participation in X Factor Bulgaria, after which she began actively releasing her own songs. The artist is known for her blend of contemporary pop and electronic sounds, as well as her striking stage looks and energetic performances. Romania, Israel, Moldova and Ukraine also received high scores in the public vote.
Ukraine came ninth
Ukraine was represented this year by the singer LELÉKA with the song “Ridnym”. According to the voting results, she came ninth. The artist had previously explained that the song carries a message of resistance to aggression and the importance of unity.
“There is no need to be afraid, no need to give in to the aggressor,” said LELÉKA in an interview with Radio Promin.
Israel’s representative, Noam Bettan, also performed third in the final with the song “Michelle”. It was Israel’s participation this year that sparked a wave of debate surrounding the contest and boycotts by certain countries due to the war in the Gaza Strip.
