The SBU has struck the ‘Saki’ military airfield in occupied Crimea — details of the strike
This has been reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The SBU stated that the operation was part of a systematic campaign against Russian military infrastructure in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Strikes were carried out on targets at the Saki airfield, as well as at the Gvardeyskoye airfield. The main focus was on hangars where aircraft were stored.
According to the agency, at least seven hangars housing fighter jets and frontline bombers, including Su-30SM, Su-30 and Su-24 aircraft, were hit.
Russian air force losses
According to preliminary information, at least seven aircraft were destroyed or damaged as a result of the strike.
This is the second strike on the Saki airfield this week, the ministry notes.
The Saki and Gvardeyskoye airfields are key bases for the Russian air force in Crimea. Tactical aircraft regularly take off from there to carry out strikes on Ukrainian territory.
