A major system failure has occurred at PrivatBank: what we know so far
On 11 May, a widespread disruption occurred in the operation of PrivatBank’s mobile app in Ukraine. Most users of the service complained that they were unable to log in to their accounts or make transfers.
This has been reported by Ukrainians on social media.
According to them, an error message appears on the screen when they try to log in.
Specialists at the financial institution acknowledged the problem and stated that they were working to resolve it.
“We are working to resolve a temporary technical glitch with authorisation and logging into ‘Privat24’. We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused by this situation,” the statement reads.
Subsequently, PrivatBank confirmed that the Privat24 mobile app and other services had resumed stable operation. Transfers and payments are proceeding as normal.
However, according to some users, the problem has not been fully resolved. Several people report that they are still unable to log in to their accounts.
“The page refreshes, asks for a password, and nothing happens,” people complain.
As a reminder, on 29 April, Monobank experienced a major outage. Users faced temporary issues accessing the app. The company confirmed the temporary technical issues, which were resolved in less than half an hour.
