A 44-year-old ‘thief-in-law’ from Ukraine has been arrested in Warsaw
The Polish police, in collaboration with the Internal Security Agency, have arrested a 44-year-old Ukrainian man in Warsaw who is believed to be a ‘thief-in-law’.
This was reported by the Polish police.
The man, who was wanted by the authorities, was in Poland illegally.
Following operational measures, law enforcement officers established his temporary whereabouts. He was located and arrested at a hotel in Warsaw.
According to the investigation, the detainee held a high-ranking position within post-Soviet organised crime structures and had previously been convicted of serious crimes, including murder.
His activities included involvement in criminal groups and conflicts between them.
Following procedural formalities, the man was handed over to officers of the Border Guard Service unit in Warsaw.
A decision has been made to ban him from entering the Schengen Area.
