This is according to the Daily News Hungary.

The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador following a massive drone attack by the Russian Federation on Zakarpattia.

On 13 May, Russian drones attacked Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region. Explosions were reported in Mukachevo, Uzhhorod, Svalyava and other towns in the region.

Local authorities described the attack as one of the largest to hit Transcarpathia since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Following the strikes, Hungary’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Orbán, stated that the Hungarian authorities were in constant contact with consular representatives.

She also reported that Budapest “strongly condemns” the Russian strikes on western regions of Ukraine.

Following a cabinet meeting, Hungary’s newly elected Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that the Hungarian Foreign Minister had summoned the Russian ambassador to Budapest for Thursday morning.

The security situation has caused disruptions at the border.

The Slovak-Ukrainian border was temporarily closed, and traffic through the Zahony checkpoint was suspended due to problems on the Ukrainian side.

As reported by ThePublic, an archive photo of Péter Magyar with a MP from Zakarpattia has appeared online.
