Andriy Yermak, the former head of the President’s Office, and Davyd Arakhamia, the leader of the ‘Servant of the People’ parliamentary faction, reportedly opposed the appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov as head of the President’s Office at the end of 2025

This is according to an investigation by *Ukrainska Pravda*.

According to the publication, following Yermak’s resignation at the end of 2025, the president’s team discussed candidates for the post of head of the Office of the President. Mykhailo Fedorov was named among the contenders.

Why Fedorov’s candidacy met with opposition

According to the publication’s sources, Fedorov had even drawn up a plan for reforming the Office of the President, but was ultimately appointed Minister of Defence. Sources at “Ukrainska Pravda” also claim that Andriy Yermak and Davyd Arakhamia opposed his appointment.

As Ukrainska Pravda reports, the sources explain Arakhamia’s position as a reluctance to strengthen Fedorov’s political influence. At the same time, the publication notes that it has in its possession an excerpt from correspondence which, it claims, belongs to Yermak. According to the editorial team, this suggests that the woman advised that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should be persuaded that Fedorov’s appointment could turn him into a potential political rival.

At the time of publication, there had been no official comments from Andriy Yermak, Davyd Arakhamia or the other individuals mentioned in the article regarding these allegations.
