Ukrainian drones attacked oil refineries in Bashkortostan and the Krasnodar Krai
The first explosions in the area around the village of Afipsky were heard around midnight. A fire broke out on the factory premises following the attack. According to Telegram monitoring channels, the fire started near the tank farm, and some of the processing equipment is believed to have been damaged. Local residents also reported numerous explosions throughout the night and heavy smoke. Black smoke was also observed over Gelendzhik, where, according to eyewitness reports, a fire broke out near the airfield.
The Krasnodar Krai Emergency Response Headquarters reported a fire at one of the industrial sites following the fall of drone debris. According to the authorities, one person was injured in the Seversky District and has been hospitalised. Damage has also been reported at 16 locations in the village of Afipsky, the settlement of Smolenskaya and the hamlet of Kovalenko. In addition to industrial facilities, several residential buildings and a structure at a level crossing were damaged.
However, there have been no official statements from the governor of the Krasnodar Region regarding the strike on the Afipsky oil refinery or the fire at the tank farm.
Drones also attacked the ‘Gazpromneftekhim Salavat’ plant in Bashkortostan during the night. According to reports from local residents, numerous explosions were heard in the city, after which a major fire broke out on the plant’s premises and thick black smoke rose into the sky.
Ukrainian monitoring sources reported that the AVT-6 primary oil distillation unit and Workshop 20, where high-density polyethylene is produced, may have been hit. There is no official confirmation of this information.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, confirmed the drone attack on the Salavat industrial zone. According to him, the attack was repelled, and the plumes of smoke were caused by debris from the downed drones.
The Afipsk oil refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in southern Russia. It was last attacked on the night of 11 June. The ‘Gazpromneftekhim Salavat’ plant was also targeted in September 2025.
