Ukraine attracted a record over $45 billion in security assistance in 2025
Ukraine attracted more than $45 billion in international security assistance in 2025, the highest figure since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression. This was announced on 2 January by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the volume of support increased by almost 30 per cent compared to 2024. The main resources in 2025 were allocated by the partners to supply weapons and ammunition, strengthen air and missile defence systems, as well as training, repair, technical support and logistics
A separate area was investments in the development of the Ukrainian defence industry. More than $6 billion was allocated for the production of weapons in Ukraine, in particular within the framework of the so-called Danish model. The state received almost $3 billion more from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets in the European Union and the United Kingdom. These funds were used to purchase weapons and strengthen the defence industry
The Minister stressed that international security support for Ukraine is becoming long-term and systematic, which is a key factor in deterring Russian aggression and strengthening the country's defence capabilities
