Ukraine needs 15 billion dollars a year for the PURL programme
Ukraine needs approximately fifteen billion dollars per year to implement the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List programme, which allows NATO countries to finance the purchase of weapons. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with journalists.
According to him, the issue of financing remains relevant. There was a shortfall of one and a half billion dollars for the current year, and now the deficit is about eight hundred million. Zelensky thanked Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte for his initiative to remind leaders about the search for additional funds.
The President emphasised that the Netherlands had made a positive decision and allocated seven hundred million dollars to the programme. He called this an important step towards ensuring sustainable financing for Ukraine's defence needs within the PURL.
