Ukrposhta has issued a stamp entitled ‘In Honour of Marine Corps Day. Warriors of the Three Elements’.

It is dedicated to one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the Marine Corps, whose Day is celebrated on 23 May.

Ihor Smilianskyi noted that the stamp was unveiled on Vyshyvanka Day, but was dedicated to those thanks to whom Ukrainians can freely wear traditional clothing, go out in it, work and meet friends.

To whom the issue is dedicated

According to Smilianskyi, the stamp is dedicated to the marines – the men and women who served on the toughest sections of the front line.

He mentioned the areas stretching from Mariupol to Pokrovsk.

“Today we are dedicating the stamp to one of the heroic units of our Armed Forces – the marines,” said Smiliansky.

Who took part in the launch

Ihor Smilianskyy said he had the honour of launching the stamp alongside Hero of Ukraine, Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Andrienko.

He also congratulated the marines on their day and wished them a safe return from their missions.

Vyshyvanka Day and the issue’s symbolism

Smilianskyy separately congratulated Ukrainians on Vyshyvanka Day.

According to him, Ukrposhta is also joining in the celebration of this national symbol, but began the day with a stamp honouring the military personnel who defend Ukrainians’ freedom to wear the vyshyvanka.
