Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced new Ukrainian-built carriages on services to Uzhhorod and Dnipro
This was reported by the Ukrzaliznytsia press office.
Where the new carriages are already in service
The new carriages have been added to the fleet of train No. 29/30 Kyiv–Uzhhorod, and upon arrival immediately set off on service No. 4/3 Uzhhorod–Dnipro.
Consequently, six new Ukrainian-built passenger carriages are now in service on the Kyiv–Uzhhorod–Dnipro route.
How do they differ?
The carriages are fitted with high-capacity rechargeable batteries, enabling the air conditioning to operate even during prolonged stops in hot weather.
The compartments feature power sockets, tables for passengers on the upper berths, call buttons for the conductor and modern lighting. The toilets are fitted with changing tables and child seats.
How many new carriages has Ukrzaliznytsia received?
Since the start of 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia has already received 18 new Ukrainian-built passenger carriages.
The company notes that modernising the rolling stock is particularly important given the high demand for rail travel and the shortage of passenger carriages.
