Leave for military personnel: types provided for by law
She told RBC-Ukraine about this.
Annual basic leave
According to the expert, military personnel are entitled to annual basic leave of up to 30 calendar days with full pay and benefits.
The leave can be divided into parts, but the continuous part must be at least 15 days.
At the same time, no more than 30% of the military personnel of a unit may be on leave at the same time.
Other types of leave
The law also provides for:
— leave for family reasons — up to 10 days with pay;
— additional leave for combatants — 14 days (at the discretion of the commander);
— leave after release from captivity — 90 days with pay;
— leave for medical treatment — for a period determined by the military medical commission;
— leave to care for a child under three years of age — without pay;
— educational leave for military personnel aged 18–25 who are pursuing education;
— up to 10 days of leave for military personnel who have signed a contract after conditional early release.
Separately, additional leave is provided for destroyed enemy equipment — from 1 to 5 days per unit depending on its type, but not more than 15 calendar days per year.
The expert emphasises that the right to leave is retained, but the procedure for granting it depends on the service situation and the decision of the command.
