All the participants in the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been confirmed
These were the national teams of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Iraq, who won their intercontinental play-offs.
Earlier, in the European play-offs, Turkey, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina secured their places at the 2026 World Cup.
The Ukrainian national team missed out on a place at the World Cup after losing to Sweden in the play-offs.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first in history to feature 48 teams in the final tournament.

2026 FIFA World Cup: venue, format
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across three North American countries — the USA, Canada and Mexico — from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
Matches will be hosted by 16 cities:
- in Canada — Toronto, Vancouver;
- in Mexico — Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey;
- in the USA — Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle.
- The 2026 World Cup final will take place in New York.
