The President informed the Italian Prime Minister about the work of the negotiating team and thanked her for Ukraine's energetic support.

During his visit to Rome, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The parties discussed the diplomatic situation surrounding Ukraine and steps that could bring peace closer. This was reported by The Public with reference to the President's Facebook page.

According to Zelenskyy, the conversation was substantive and covered all aspects of the current negotiation processes. The President informed the Italian Prime Minister about the work of the Ukrainian team coordinating diplomatic efforts with partners.

The Head of State emphasised that Italy is actively involved in the search for effective solutions. ‘We are counting on Italy's continued support, which is important for Ukraine,’ the President said.

Separately, Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for the energy assistance. The package of equipment provided by Italy is intended to support Ukrainian communities during Russian shelling.

The meeting in Italy took place against the backdrop of active work by Ukrainian and European representatives on documents related to peace initiatives. Zelensky emphasised that diplomatic efforts are continuing and that Ukraine is interested in genuine peace.
