MP Roman Kaptyelov has called on Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to resign following a clash with staff at the Territorial Recruitment Centre in Lviv. The incident took place on the evening of 8 July in Sykhiv during mobilisation awareness events, when a crowd damaged and overturned a military service vehicle.
Over the past 24 hours, 283 combat engagements were recorded on the front line. Russian forces carried out dozens of air strikes, deployed over 10,000 drones and fired more than 3,400 rounds at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

One of Ukraine’s largest private defence companies — Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles LLC — has reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out searches at its premises and that the company’s first deputy director was beaten. The company claims that the investigative actions are linked to a case concerning the supply of single-use anti-tank grenade launchers to the Defence Forces.
Sweden has transferred €124.1 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. As a result, the country’s total contribution to the fund has exceeded €386 million, whilst the support mechanism itself has surpassed the €2 billion mark since its inception.
In Wrocław, Poland, a 19-year-old Ukrainian man was beaten on Slodowa Island after speaking Ukrainian on his mobile phone. According to the victim, a group of young men knocked him to the ground, hit him on the head and kicked him, and after the attack laughed that they had ‘beaten up a Ukrainian’.
NATO has agreed to change the format of the Baltic Air Policing mission in the Baltic states, expanding it into an air defence mission. This will allow Alliance aircraft to operate under broader rules for responding to air threats.
The United States has launched a new wave of air strikes against targets in Iran. US Central Command stated that the operation is aimed at undermining Tehran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out strikes on the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Mykolaiv regions. The Czech Republic will not be taking part in the new €70 billion military aid package for Ukraine, which was agreed by NATO countries at the summit in Ankara. At the same time, Prague has stated that it will make a small one-off contribution as part of the mechanism for procuring US weapons for Ukraine.
On the night of 9 July, drones attacked a number of targets in Russia. Fires broke out at oil depots in the Tver Region and the Stavropol Krai, and there are also reports of damage to tankers in the Sea of Azov.
