Anna Muzychuk wins silver medal at the World Blitz Chess Championship in Qatar
Ukraine's Anna Muzychuk won a silver medal at the World Blitz Chess Championship, which took place in the Qatari capital of Doha on 29-30 December.
According to the results of the main round, Muzychuk entered the top 4. Four chess players scored 11 points out of 13 possible. Among them are the Ukrainian, representative of Kazakhstan Bibisara Asaubayeva, the Dutch Elin Rubers, and the Chinese Zhu Jin'er
In the semi-finals, Anna Muzychuk defeated Elin Rubers 2.5-1.5, while Asaubayeva confidently beat Zhu Jinier 3-0. In the final match, the Kazakh chess player defeated the Ukrainian with a score of 2.5:1.5 and became the world blitz champion, while Muzychuk won silver
This is Anna Muzychuk's third time in the top three of the World Blitz Championships. In 2016, she became the world champion, and in 2019 she also won a silver medal, confirming her consistently high level of play on the world stage
