The accident left part of Sumy without electricity and water, and the city was attacked by drones
On the morning of 10 December, there was an emergency power outage in Sumy and part of the Sumy district. Sumyoblenergo reported that the power outage was not related to scheduled outages, and specialists were working to restore power. At the same time, the city water utility facilities were left without electricity, so water was supplied according to schedule.
Due to the lack of electricity, trolleybuses stopped running in the city. Utility workers later reported a gradual restoration of routes. Power engineers eliminated the consequences of the accident and restored power to homes and infrastructure facilities.
Against the backdrop of technical problems, the region experienced new Russian attacks. According to the regional administration, from the morning of 9 December to the morning of 10 December, Russian troops carried out nearly 30 strikes on 20 settlements. Two people were killed: a 73-year-old man in the Myropil community and a 61-year-old man in the Krasnopil community as a result of FPV drone strikes. An injured woman was hospitalised.
Most of the shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The Russians used artillery, mortars, drones, and guided aerial bombs. Private cars were damaged and homes and civilian infrastructure were destroyed in the communities. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service extinguished a fire at an infrastructure facility after a night-time drone attack.
