A Russian drone struck Lviv: people were injured, and a building and a UNESCO World Heritage Site were damaged
On 24 March, Russian forces attacked Lviv with drones. According to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, strikes have hit the city centre.
According to preliminary information, a UNESCO World Heritage site was damaged as a result of the strike. Kozytskyi emphasised that this is preliminary information.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported that a residential building in the city centre was damaged as a result of the enemy attack. He said that all emergency services had been dispatched to the scene.
Sadovyi also warned that the threat to the city remained very high and urged residents to take shelter. He noted that another enemy drone was heading towards Lviv.
Later, Maksym Kozytskyi reported that at least two people had been seriously injured.
A few minutes later, Andriy Sadovyi reported another strike by an enemy drone on a residential building in Sykhiv, on Chervonoyi Kaliny Avenue.
The attack on Ukraine on 24 March
On the night of 24 March, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine using 426 air attack assets. According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defence forces had shot down or neutralised 390 targets – 25 missiles and 365 drones.
