American entrepreneur Elon Musk has stated that his aerospace company, SpaceX, could achieve an annual revenue of over $1 trillion by 2030. The businessman made the announcement on the social media platform X.

This was reported by Reuters.

Musk’s comment came two days after SpaceX went public. Following its debut, the company’s market capitalisation exceeded $2 trillion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the US.

“I would be surprised if revenue in 2031 didn’t exceed $1 trillion,” Musk wrote in response to a post by journalist and financial commentator John Ehrlichman.

Following its successful stock market debut, SpaceX became the sixth-largest US company by market value, whilst Musk cemented his status as the world’s first trillionaire.

At the same time, the company’s financial performance still lags significantly behind other tech giants with similar market capitalisation. By the end of 2025, SpaceX’s revenue had risen to $18.67 billion, compared with $14.02 billion a year earlier. However, the company ended the year with a net loss of $4.94 billion, following a profit of $791 million in 2024.

Some Wall Street analysts are sceptical about the possibility of achieving such figures. In particular, Goldman Sachs forecasts that by 2030, SpaceX’s revenue will exceed $470 billion, whilst Morgan Stanley expects a figure of nearly $330 billion.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire following SpaceX’s IPO.
