General Staff: Russian forces lost 1,240 troops and a helicopter in the past 24 hours
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on Russian military losses as of 21 March 2026. According to military sources, 1,240 Russian occupiers were eliminated on the front line in the past 24 hours alone.
In addition to personnel, the Russian army lost one tank, eight armoured fighting vehicles, 39 artillery systems and one helicopter over the past 24 hours.
Also, according to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 1,781 tactical-level drones and 144 vehicles and tankers.
Total combat losses of Russian forces from 24 February 2022 to 21 March 2026, according to the General Staff’s estimates, amount to approximately 1,286,940 personnel.
During the same period, according to Ukrainian command, Russia lost 11,790 tanks, 24,262 armoured fighting vehicles, 38,608 artillery systems, 1,691 multiple launch rocket systems and 1,333 air defence systems.
Furthermore, the report mentions the loss of 435 aircraft, 350 helicopters, 188,985 tactical-level UAVs, 4,468 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, as well as two submarines.
Separately, the General Staff notes that since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost 84,518 vehicles and tankers, as well as 4,096 units of specialised equipment.
