Gorbunov explained the break in Ponomariov and Khoma’s joint tours
Gorbunov spoke about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA.
According to the presenter, for almost three years he, Ponomariov and Khoma – known by his stage name DZIDZIO – toured Ukraine giving charity concerts. In some cities they performed two or three times, raising money for the Ukrainian military.
Recently, there have been far fewer such concerts. Gorbunov put this down to the performers’ busy schedules, rather than any conflict between them. He is about to start a new season of *The Voice of Ukraine*, whilst Ponomariov and Khoma are working on their own concert programmes.
“There will still be a few joint charity events this autumn. It’s just that now they’re no longer major concert tours, but a slightly different format,” said the presenter.
Gorbunov also explained that the creative project came about following a charity concert for border guards in Khmelnytskyi. Afterwards, the artists began travelling together to military bases. Ponomariov and Khoma were in charge of the musical performances, whilst Gorbunov organised charity auctions between sets.
One of their collaborative works was the song “On Land, in the Air and at Sea”, which Oleksandr Ponomariov wrote after the start of the full-scale invasion. Taras Topolia, frontman of the band “Antytila”, also took part in the recording of the track and the music video.
Gorbunov emphasised that he continues to keep in touch with Ponomariov and Khoma off stage. According to him, they remain on friendly terms, meet up with their families and visit each other’s homes.
