This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate

What Ukrainian intelligence managed to intercept

The Main Intelligence Directorate reported that the recording was made whilst servicemen of the Russian Army’s 1194th Motorised Rifle Regiment were carrying out a combat mission.

According to the occupier featured in the intercepted recording, during the assault on a forest belt in the Donbas, two mercenaries from Africa are to be the first to move into position. Following them, he said, another group would advance, comprising himself and mercenaries from Arab countries. The excerpt published by the GUR also contains remarks by the Russian soldier using racist language towards foreigners.

What the Main Intelligence Directorate said

The intelligence service claims that Russia is increasingly using foreign mercenaries during attacks on the most dangerous sections of the front line. The GUR has also appealed to Russian servicemen and foreign mercenaries to voluntarily lay down their arms and take advantage of the state-run ‘I Want to Live’ programme, which helps them safely surrender to Ukrainian authorities.
