Most Ukrainian companies have no plans to hire foreign nationals and do not see any benefit in doing so — survey
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the European Business Association (EBA).
According to the survey, only 12% of the companies surveyed are actively considering the option of hiring foreign nationals, and only 2% already have relevant experience.
Businesses cite the language barrier, the difficulty of staff adaptation, bureaucratic procedures, the high cost of legalisation and lengthy processing times as key challenges.
Among companies that already have practical experience, 87% consider the current procedures for employing foreign nationals to be complex (with 33% describing them as excessively complex). Only 13% of respondents describe the procedures as simple and straightforward.
At the same time, 58% of respondents do not consider hiring foreign workers to be more cost-effective for the company, and only 3% hold the opposite view.
Furthermore, 41% of companies believe that increased state support for the employment of internally displaced Ukrainians could reduce the need to recruit foreign workers, whilst a further 37% believe this would have a partial impact on the situation.
