The NABU is calling for sanctions to be imposed on a former MP in connection with the ‘Stolychny’ market case
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has appealed to the President of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine to impose sanctions on one of the individuals implicated in the case concerning the land deal at the “Stolychny” market.
The statement notes that the proposal is to impose sanctions on a former Member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the now-banned Party of Regions, who is a suspect in this criminal case.
According to the investigation, during the probe, detectives established the suspect’s sustained financial links with the aggressor state. In particular, this concerns the operation of companies linked to him in the temporarily occupied territories and on Russian territory, which paid taxes to the Russian budget.
Separately, NABU stated that it had established the suspect’s use of a Russian passport, as well as his links to individuals involved in financing armed formations and the occupying authorities of the aggressor state.
The Bureau reiterated that NABU and the SAPO are conducting a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings concerning a deal involving nine plots of land within the “Stolychny” market.
Within the scope of these proceedings, the former MP in question is, as noted, suspected of organising the legalisation, i.e. the laundering, of property obtained by criminal means.
As a reminder, NABU is conducting searches at the Kyiv Court of Appeal and the Office of the Prosecutor General in the Ivanyushchenko case
