Olena Kravets and Olena Zelenska: why their long-standing friendship has been put on hold
Olena Kravets spoke about this in an interview with Slava Dyomin.
Ukrainian actress, presenter and star of “Kvartal 95” Olena Kravets explained why she is currently barely in touch with First Lady Olena Zelenska.
The Kravets and Zelensky families used to be close. Olena Zelenska is the actress’s godmother, but their regular contact ceased after the full-scale war began.
Kravets noted that she hasn’t seen Zelenska for a long time and doesn’t even have her personal phone number.
“I haven’t seen Olena for a very long time… we don’t even speak on the phone because I don’t have her number,” the actress said.
Why the friendship has been put on hold
According to Kravets, the reason for the distance is primarily linked to security.
Since the start of the war, the Zelenskys’ lives have changed significantly. Access to the First Lady has become restricted, and the usual circle of personal contacts clearly no longer functions as it did before 2022.
Kravets did not mention any quarrel or offence. On the contrary, it appears from her words that the relationship did not break down due to a conflict, but rather came to a standstill because of the war, new circumstances and the status of the president’s family.
Does Kravets communicate with Zelenskyy?
The actress said that she sometimes sends Volodymyr Zelenskyy private messages to wish his family a happy holiday.
At the same time, she said, she does not always receive a reply.
Despite this, Kravets emphasised that she continues to respect the Zelenskys and considers them important people in her life.
Olena Kravets was one of the most famous members of “Kvartal 95” for many years, but later left the studio.
Earlier, “Kvartal 95” actor Stepan Kazanin spoke about the reasons for her departure from the project. Kravets herself has also spoken publicly about a crisis in her marriage.
As reported by ThePublic, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska, together with Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, visited the 112 Service’s communications centre. During the visit, a demonstration was given of the emergency response system, the Situation Centre and psychological rehabilitation services for military personnel and civilians
