Payments ahead of Independence Day 2026
In 2026, Ukraine expanded the list of categories of citizens who will automatically receive a one-off cash payment to mark Independence Day

This was announced by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Who will receive the payment automatically

A one-off cash payment in August will be automatically credited to citizens who receive:

  • a pension or a monthly lifetime allowance;
  • housing subsidies;
  • concessions on housing and utility bills.

The funds will be paid alongside the relevant benefits.

These categories of people do not need to make any additional enquiries with the Pension Fund.

How military personnel will receive their payments

For war veterans currently serving in the armed forces, the payment will be transferred via the military units, institutions or organisations where they are serving.

For this to happen, the employer must be aware of the veteran’s status.

Who needs to submit an application

You must contact the Pension Fund if you are entitled to benefits but:

  • do not receive a pension;
  • do not receive housing subsidies or benefits;
  • are not currently serving in the armed forces.

The application must include personal details, bank account details and information about the document confirming entitlement to the benefit.

Copies of your passport and the relevant certificate must be attached to the application.

How to submit your application

You can submit your application:

  • at a Pension Fund service centre;
  • via an administrative services centre;
  • by post;
  • online via the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s e-services portal using an electronic signature.

The amounts of the Independence Day payments for 2026 are set out in Resolution No. 602 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 13 May 2026.
