Poland will declassify all military aid to Ukraine for the period 2022–2026
Poland’s Defence Minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, has ordered the declassification of information regarding all military aid to Ukraine from 2022 to 2026.
Poland is to publish details of all the military aid it has provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. This decision was taken following public claims regarding the alleged secret transfer of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine.

This was announced by Poland’s Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, on the social media platform X.

According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the decision was taken following consultations with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The Polish authorities intend to declassify all data on military supplies to Ukraine for the period 2022–2026 in accordance with current legislation.

The minister also emphasised that the transfer of military aid began under the Law and Justice government, when Mariusz Błaszczak was head of the Ministry of Defence. According to him, the Polish presidents – initially Andrzej Duda and now Karol Nawrocki – were informed of each arms transfer.

SKW to investigate possible leak of state secrets

In addition to declassifying the information, Kosiniak-Kamysz has instructed the Polish Military Counter-Intelligence Service (SKW) to establish who may have deliberately disclosed information constituting a state secret.

“We are operating in a war-like situation on our borders, and any actions directed against Poland’s national interests jeopardise the safety of our citizens. All those responsible will be held to account, regardless of whether they have immunity,” stated the Defence Minister.

What prompted the statement

The minister’s statement came after the co-chair of the far-right “Confederation” party and Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak claimed that in March the Polish government had allegedly transferred interceptor missiles for American Patriot systems to Ukraine without any public announcement.

According to Bosak, these were missiles that Poland had purchased from the US to create its own multi-layered air defence system. He also claimed that these are the only missiles in Poland’s arsenal capable of intercepting Russian ‘Iskander’ ballistic missiles deployed in the Kaliningrad region.

The Polish authorities have not yet officially confirmed the transfer of Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine. That is why the government has decided to declassify the full list of military aid, in order to provide the public with official information on the scale of support for Ukraine.
