The Security Service of Ukraine, in conjunction with the Defence Forces, has carried out a series of strikes on fuel, energy and military infrastructure targets in Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea. Among the targets struck were the Yaroslavl oil refinery, the oil loading terminal in Vysotsk and military facilities in Crimea.

The Security Service of Ukraine has reported that, in conjunction with other components of the Defence Forces, it has carried out a series of successful strikes against fuel, energy and military infrastructure targets in Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea. The SSU noted that the operation was carried out as part of a systematic effort to reduce the Russian Federation’s military and economic potential, in accordance with instructions from the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukrainian drones attacked the Yaroslavl oil refinery and the ‘Yaroslavl’ production control station. According to the SSU, explosions and smoke were observed in the vicinity of the facility.

A successful strike on the oil loading terminal at the ‘Vysotsk’ seaport in the Leningrad Oblast has also been confirmed. According to the SSU, the strike disabled two oil loading stands and damaged three tanks containing petroleum products.

The “First Plant” oil refinery in the Kaluga region was also targeted. A fire broke out at the facility following the explosions.

The SSU carried out a separate operation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It is reported that three hangars containing aviation equipment at the ‘Gvardeyskoye’ airfield were hit. Also targeted were a “Pantsir S2” anti-aircraft missile system near Simferopol, a mobile fire support unit in Kerch, a tank containing petroleum products, and a pumping station at the “TES Terminal 1” oil depot.

“In accordance with the President’s instructions, we are doing everything we can to ensure that Russia faces retribution for its crimes on a daily basis. As long as the enemy continues to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities, its military and fuel infrastructure will suffer significant losses. We are systematically destroying the resources that fuel the Russian war machine, and this effort will only intensify,” said SSU Head Yevhen Khmara.

Meanwhile, the Russian authorities reported a massive drone attack. Mikhail Yevraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, reported that over 70 drones had allegedly been shot down and that two people had been hospitalised with shrapnel wounds. The governor of the Leningrad Oblast, Oleksandr Drozdhenko, reported damage to infrastructure near the Luzhsky training ground, as well as in the areas around the ports of Ust-Luga and Vysotsk. In the Kaluga Region, Governor Vladislav Shapsh reported a fire at an industrial plant following a drone attack.
