Polish companies have joined forces to help rebuild Ukraine
This has been reported by the Polish Ministry of State Assets. The initiative involves joint preparations for large-scale infrastructure projects that could be implemented once the war has ended.
Poland is preparing to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine
The signed agreement concerns cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine’s transport, logistics and engineering infrastructure. The companies plan to exchange expertise, technical solutions and resources to participate in major international tenders. It is anticipated that some of the projects will be funded by the European Union, international funds and the Polish bank BGK. Poland’s Minister of State Assets, Wojciech Balczun, stated that Warsaw is already preparing mechanisms for more active participation by Polish businesses in the reconstruction of Ukraine. According to him, this involves not only the construction of roads or bridges, but also large-scale projects in the energy, logistics and port infrastructure sectors. Balczun also noted that companies which usually compete with one another on the Polish market have decided to join forces due to the scale of Ukraine’s future reconstruction.
Poland has described the reconstruction of Ukraine as a historic opportunity
Pawel Kowal, Chairman of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine, stated that participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine has already become not only a political but also an economic priority for Poland. Budimex President Artur Popko described the future reconstruction of Ukraine as one of the most important infrastructure projects in Europe. He noted that Polish companies wish to utilise the experience gained during the implementation of major projects in Poland for their work in Ukraine. Polimex Mostostal also emphasised that they have experience in implementing large-scale energy and industrial projects, including on the Ukrainian market.
The cost of Ukraine’s reconstruction is estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars
The Polish government points out that once the war is over, Ukraine faces one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe in recent decades. According to World Bank estimates, the total cost of reconstruction could reach nearly $588 billion over ten years. In Warsaw, it is believed that Poland has the potential to become one of Ukraine’s key partners in this process — thanks to its geographical location, logistics, construction companies and financial institutions. Special attention is planned to be given to this topic during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, which will take place in Gdańsk.
