Poland unites for Ukraine: millions of zlotys raised for generators for Kyiv
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga publicly thanked Poland for its large-scale charity campaign "Warmth from Poland for Kyiv," aimed at raising funds to purchase generators for Ukraine. The head of Ukrainian diplomacy posted his words of gratitude on social media in Polish, emphasising that such an initiative is extremely important in the context of winter frosts and constant Russian missile terror.
According to Sibiga, the participation of Polish citizens, volunteers and organisations in the fundraising campaign was a manifestation of genuine solidarity, humanity and sincere support, because in the current conditions, heat and electricity are directly linked to safety and the preservation of life. He stressed that Ukrainians do not feel alone in their struggle and are grateful to Poland for its assistance, which has not only practical but also profound moral significance.
As part of the nationwide campaign "Warmth from Poland for Kyiv," more than 2.5 million zlotys, equivalent to approximately 700,000 US dollars, were raised in just three days. The funds raised will be used to purchase generators to support the Ukrainian power system in the face of massive attacks from Russia.
