On the night of 23 December, Ukraine's air defence system shot down 621 air targets during a combined Russian attack. Most missiles were intercepted by F 16 fighters

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a video of air defence during a massive combined attack by Russia on the night of 23 December 2025. The footage of combat operations was published on the official Facebook page of the command on Facebook.

According to the Air Force, Ukrainian air defence systems have neutralised 621 air targets. These include 587 drones of various types and 34 X 101 and Iskander K cruise missiles that Russia has been using to attack Ukraine since the evening of 22 December.

The head of the communications department of the Air Force Command Yuriy Ignat said that the vast majority of missiles during this attack were destroyed by F 16 fighter pilots. At the same time, he stressed that the number of missiles for air defence systems and air-to-air weapons from Western partners is currently insufficient for Ukraine's needs.

The Air Force emphasises that the scale of the attack was one of the largest in the entire period of the full-scale war, and the effective work of air defence prevented much greater destruction.
