Росіяни пошкодили двадцяту підстанцію на Одещині: без світла залишаються 90 тисяч споживачів
On the night of 12 December, the occupiers attacked Odesa region again with attack drones. Oleh Kiper, the head of the JMA, said that the enemy carried out a massive raid on Odesa district, damaging a power facility, warehouses, an administrative building and a garage. Fires broke out in several places, which were promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service. There were no casualties, but some settlements were left without electricity.
According to DTEK, another substation was put out of action as a result of the strike. This is the twentieth power facility of the group to be seriously damaged in the region since the start of massive Russian strikes on the energy sector. Another company's facility also came under attack.
Power companies report that they have managed to reconnect 40,000 households through backup schemes. Another 90 thousand consumers remain without electricity. Emergency crews are working on the spot, and critical infrastructure is temporarily powered by generators.
The head of Odesa MVA, Serhiy Lysak, added that a residential building and several civilian infrastructure facilities were also damaged. Utilities are clearing the rubble, closing windows and recording the needs of residents. Despite the difficult situation, schools and kindergartens will continue to operate thanks to generators.
