Russia launched attacks on Dnipro, the Sumy region and Odesa overnight; there are reports of casualties
Dnipropetrovsk Region
Two people were killed and six others injured in a night-time attack on Dnipro. This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
According to him, five of the injured have been hospitalised. Doctors describe the condition of three of them as serious.
Earlier reports mentioned two injured men aged 40 and 25. One of them was in a critical condition, the other in a serious condition.
Subsequently, the number of casualties rose to five. Among them were a man and a woman in a critical condition.
A fire broke out in the city. Food warehouses were also damaged as a result of the strike.
Sumy region
Russian drones launched a massive attack on the Konotop and Shostka communities.
Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that strikes on residential areas had been recorded. Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attacks and evacuate residents from damaged and nearby buildings were ongoing.
In Konotop, according to preliminary data, at least six people were injured. Later, the State Emergency Service reported eight casualties.
Residential buildings and the local history museum were hit. Fires broke out, and rescue workers were operating at five different locations. Rescue teams from Sumy and the State Emergency Service’s canine units were also deployed to assist.
In an apartment block, the floor between the second and fourth floors was destroyed as a result of the strike. Rescuers saved three people.
Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin stated that part of the high-rise had been destroyed by the attack and that people might be trapped under the rubble.
Rescue operations were temporarily suspended due to the threat of further strikes. Subsequently, all sources of fire were extinguished.
Odesa region
Russian attack drones struck Odesa overnight.
According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, residential buildings and cars were damaged in the attack. A single-storey building was also completely destroyed.
The State Emergency Service reported that the residential sector, warehouses and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged.
In one of the city’s districts, a single-storey residential building was destroyed, leading to a fire. A drone strike was also recorded at the 18th floor of an unfinished 24-storey building.
In addition, a large-scale fire broke out in a warehouse building.
Eighty-six rescue workers, 20 units of State Emergency Service equipment, and representatives of the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine were deployed to deal with the aftermath.
