Sweden reveals details of the effectiveness of Archer howitzers at the front in Ukraine — Archer self-propelled howitzers

Ukrainian artillerymen have called the Swedish Archer one of the most effective systems in the fight against Russian troops, capable of hitting targets tens of kilometres away.

Sweden has handed over 26 modern Archer self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, which are already being actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the frontline. This is reported by the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv.

According to the diplomatic mission, the military of the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine praised Archer for its extraordinary effectiveness in destroying Russian positions at a distance of up to 50 kilometres. At the same time, due to the intensive combat use of this artillery system, the barrels wear out quickly, so in mid-2025, Sweden additionally handed over more than ten spare ones to Ukraine.

The Embassy emphasises that the Archer is one of the most modern Swedish artillery systems: the howitzer is mounted on a heavy all-terrain vehicle, is remotely controlled from an armoured cabin, has advanced ballistic calculations, high accuracy, rapid redeployment and compatibility with international ammunition.
