The President of Honduras has visited Ukraine for the first time

The President of Honduras, Nasri Asfour, began his first official visit to Ukraine by paying tribute to the Ukrainian servicemen who lost their lives in the war against Russia.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

On 19 June, the President of Honduras, Nasri Asfour, arrived in Ukraine on his first official visit.

He began his visit by paying tribute to the Ukrainian defenders who lost their lives defending Ukraine against Russian aggression.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described this as an important gesture of respect for Ukrainians who gave their lives for freedom and peace.

What Zelenskyy said

Zelenskyy thanked Honduras for its support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

According to the head of state, Ukraine appreciates the understanding of what the country is currently going through.

The President also paid tribute to all Ukrainian servicemen and women who lost their lives defending the country against Russian aggression.

Who arrived with the Honduran president

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, Honduras’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mireya Agüero, arrived in Kyiv alongside Nasri Asfura.

In April 2026, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held the first-ever telephone conversation in the history of bilateral relations with the President of Honduras, Nasri Asfour.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and Honduras.
