The Ukrainian Armed Forces have confirmed a strike on the 'Crimean Titan' plant in occupied Crimea
The attack was reported by Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, one of the largest chemical plants in Eastern Europe, which has been under Russian control since the occupation of Crimea, was hit. A fire broke out on the plant’s premises following the attack. According to preliminary information, production processes at the plant have been suspended. Local public groups also reported a series of explosions and damage to the plant’s workshops.
What is known about the Crimean Titan plant
The plant is located in Armiansk in the north of occupied Crimea and produces titanium dioxide. Before the occupation of the peninsula, the plant was one of the largest producers of this product in Eastern Europe. After the annexation of Crimea, Russia took control of the plant and continued its operation. According to the Ukrainian side, the plant’s capacity could have been used for the benefit of the Russian military-industrial complex. In particular, products from chemical plants of this type can be used in the manufacture of components for ammunition, explosives and other military products. There is currently no official information regarding the extent of the damage to the plant.
