Brazil got off to a poor start at the 2026 World Cup. In the first match of the group stage, Carlo Ancelotti’s side drew with Morocco, who once again proved themselves to be one of the tournament’s most dangerous opponents

This is according to Suspilne Sport

Brazil failed to beat Morocco in their first Group C match. The game ended 1-1. For the five-time world champions, this was their first World Cup match under Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti.

How the Brazil v Morocco match unfolded

The Moroccans started the game strongly and opened the scoring as early as the 21st minute. Brahim Díaz played a pass to Ismael Saibari, who found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Alisson Becker and slotted the ball into the net. It took Brazil just ten minutes to get back into the game. In the 31st minute, Vinícius Júnior received the ball on the left flank, moved closer to the centre and levelled the score with a powerful strike. After the break, both teams tried to snatch victory. There were dangerous moments at both ends, but Alisson and Yassine Bounou prevented their opponents from scoring a second goal. The final whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw.

"Am I satisfied? Not entirely. I expected a better start. But these things happen. Now we’ll focus on the next match," said Ancelotti.
