The Ukrainian company and the missile manufacturer Taurus have agreed on a strategic partnership
This is stated in an MBDA press release.
The document was signed on 10 June on the sidelines of the ILA Berlin exhibition, which is taking place in Berlin. The memorandum was signed by Vladislav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles LLC, and Thomas Gottschild, MBDA’s Vice President for Strategy and Future Development and Managing Director of MBDA in Germany.
According to MBDA, the initial areas of cooperation have been identified as the development of defence capabilities in the fields of Deep Strike and counter-UAV.
“The exchange of technological expertise, the development of joint production programmes and the implementation of innovative solutions will ensure operational superiority in high-intensity conflicts and form the basis for close cooperation with a view to establishing a joint venture. At the same time, these areas are only part of a broader strategic partnership programme, which will be announced in more detail in due course,” the company’s press release states.
MBDA stated that “the company is committed to supporting Ukraine’s defence industry by ensuring the autonomy of Ukrainian production facilities, and will make a significant contribution thanks to its extensive experience and expertise in the development, production and support of missile systems”.
“This partnership is a historic step both for strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and for building a new European security architecture. We are combining MBDA’s deep technological expertise with real-world experience of integrating weaponry in wartime conditions and the manufacturing flexibility of ‘Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles’. Our joint work on Deep Strike systems and counter-UAV capabilities is primarily aimed at strengthening our nation’s defence in high-intensity warfare. “Our main task is to ensure Ukraine’s technological autonomy and provide our defenders with weapons that will secure operational superiority on the battlefield,” commented Vladislav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles LLC, on the signing of the memorandum.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Mercedes-Benz will collaborate with a drone manufacturer that supplies Ukraine with interceptor drones.
